These gardens are a gift from
the Wardens and Vestry--and countless parishioners--to honor Fr. Jim
Spata's ministry at Caroline Church over the past twenty-five years.

The first parishioner in the
history of Caroline Church to be ordained, Fr. Jim was ordained to the Deaconate
in 1981, and to the priesthood in 1983.
A special bronze
plaque is being forged, and will be placed in the garden. The scripture
cited on the plaque is a favorite of Fr. Jim's:
but they who
wait for the Lord
shall renew their strength,
they shall mount up with wings
like eagles,
they shall run and not be weary,
they shall walk and not faint." Isaiah
40:31
The gardens were formally dedicated on July 14, 2002. Thanks to Gary
and Claire Mis for these photos.
